SPORT ET GÉNÉROSITÉ. Marianne Blattès a couru le marathon de Londres 2024.

I am thrilled that I successfully completed my first marathon in London! The journey was incredibly challenging, with rigorous training pushing me to my limits. The support of a very enthusiastic crowd helped considerably and crossing the finish line was an unforgettable and rewarding experience.

The London marathon is  the biggest in the world. This year almost 600,000 people applied to take part via a ballot and just over 53,000 actually competed. Over 800,000 have already applied to take part in next year’s event, with almost the same numbers of men and women hoping to compete.

A total of £67 million was raised this year for charity, setting a new world record for the biggest one-day fundraising event.  I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who supported me and donated to The Children’s Society. This incredible organisation works tirelessly to provide essential services, advocacy, and support for children facing challenges such as poverty, abuse, and neglect. Your generosity and encouragement have not only helped me achieve a personal milestone but also made a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people across the UK. Thank you for being a part of the journey and for making a difference.
