Jacques Arnoux a toujours autant d&#8217;enthousiasme pour expliquer les diff\u00e9rents pas de danse. Heureusement, des adh\u00e9rents de son club de Danse Ecossaise de La Mure \u00e9taient l\u00e0 pour nous indiquer les bons mouvements et directions \u00e0 prendre dans les diff\u00e9rentes danses, Britannia twostep, Hedwig&#8217;s reel, Pudsey bear, Swedish masquerade, Canadian barn dance, Gypsy thread. Nous avons profit\u00e9 pleinement de la qualit\u00e9 de la douzaine de musiciens du groupe O&#8217; Celtish de l&#8217;\u00e9cole de musique de Bourg d&#8217;Oisans. V\u00e9ronica avait sorti de sa r\u00e9serve un large choix de d\u00e9corations \u00e9cossaises (saltire, buntings, plaids, &#8230;) pour d\u00e9corer la crypte et le stand de ravitaillement o\u00f9 il \u00e9tait indispensable de s&#8217;arr\u00eater pour d\u00e9guster tarte aux pommes , cidre et autres boissons, apr\u00e8s toute l&#8217;\u00e9nergie d\u00e9pens\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous avons quitt\u00e9 nos amis de Bourg d&#8217;Oisans et La Mure en leur souhaitant un bon retour alors que la neige s&#8217;\u00e9tait mise \u00e0 tomber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image The history behind the most important night in the Scottish calendar<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>What is Burns Night? Like Christmas, in simple terms Burns Night is a great big birthday bash for Scotland\u2019s bard, Rabbie Burns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like Christmas, in simple terms Burns Night is a great big birthday bash. We celebrate it just one month later, a silver lining in deep winter on <strong>25 January<\/strong> \u2013 the day Scotland\u2019s pre-eminent poet, Robert \u2018Rabbie\u2019 Burns, was born \u2013 and it\u2019s similarly indulgent and alcohol-infused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, what is Burns Night?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.discoverbritain.com\/_gatsby\/file\/abef952f3b3436cc9a21dbbfc1ef51e0\/2977_robert-burns-gfbf84a963_1280.png\" alt=\"robert-burns-gfbf84a963_1280\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as being as indulgent and alcohol-infused, Burns Night is also ostentatiously Scottish and all the more rigorously traditional for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happened at the first Burns Night supper?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, its origins are more sober. The first&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverbritain.com\/history\/icons\/robert-burns-love-life\/\">Burns<\/a>&nbsp;supper would have had quite a different atmosphere, not least because it was held on a warm midsummer\u2019s night in July 1801. In a snug little cottage in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nts.org.uk\/visit\/places\/robert-burns-birthplace-museum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alloway<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.discoverbritain.com\/history\/traditions\/burns-night-facts-about-robbie-burns\/\">Burns<\/a>\u2019 family home \u2013 nine of Burns\u2019 close friends gathered to mark the fifth anniversary of their friend\u2019s death.
