Le Vendredi 03 Juin 2022, l\u2019Alliance-Grenoble-Oxford a organis\u00e9 une soir\u00e9e festive en \u00e9cho aux c\u00e9l\u00e9brations qui se tiennent au Royaume Uni en l\u2019honneur du jubil\u00e9 de platine de la Reine Elizabeth II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans le cadre magnifique du ch\u00e2teau des Ar\u00e8nes \u00e0 Gi\u00e8res, toute l’\u00e9quipe de l’AGO avait pr\u00e9par\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie d\u2019animations. L\u2019ap\u00e9ritif \u00e9tait servi dans les jardins alors que se d\u00e9roulaient les \u00e9preuves de lancer de botte et de lancer de tronc. Seule l’\u00e9preuve internationale de tir \u00e0 la corde n’a pu avoir lieu, faute de temps. Ces jeux “Homemade” s’inspiraient de fa\u00e7on approximative des Highland Games en Ecosse. La Reine, pour honorer ses anc\u00eatres \u00e9cossais, ne manque jamais d’y assister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bien que sa majest\u00e9 n’ait pas pu venir \u00e0 la soir\u00e9e (elle \u00e9tait prise ailleurs) elle \u00e9tait n\u00e9anmoins pr\u00e9sente parmi nous, en effigie. Cela a permis aux participants de prendre des photos souvenirs en pr\u00e9sence de la Reine. Ainsi, la trentaine de participants dont une bonne proportion d\u2019Anglophones a partag\u00e9 ce moment joyeux et d\u00e9jant\u00e9 avec l’AGO. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur les tables magnifiquement dress\u00e9es, nous attendaient un quizz royal et un jeu de points \u00e0 relier. Chris Cook, avec sa guitare et son ukul\u00e9l\u00e9, a fait chanter la salle enti\u00e8re ; les paroles des chansons anglaises et fran\u00e7aises \u00e9taient \u00e0 la disposition des participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pendant ce temps, la ch\u00e2telaine Anne nous a r\u00e9gal\u00e9s avec un menu digne d’une Reine. Nous avons particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 le supr\u00eame de volaille et sa sauce Buckingham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les gagnants des jeux et de la tombola sont repartis avec de petits cadeaux en rapport avec le jubil\u00e9 tandis que le concours de chapeaux nous a permis d\u2019admirer la belle cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 des gagnantes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un dernier “Loyal toast” \u00e0 la Reine, suivi d\u2019un vibrant \u00ab God Save the Queen \u00bb cl\u00f4turait la soir\u00e9e. A good time was had by all !<\/p>\n\n\n\n
